I met Holly through my husband’s work and she introduced me to her Fiance, Jeremy. We met for ice cream and they were kind enough to enjoy sharing their meeting with my youngest who was rapidly eating her treat. As we discussed what they were looking for in a photographer and what they had planned for their wedding. Meeting face to face allowed me to understand their reservations and address them. It allowed them to see my work and hear how I would handle their situation. After my daughter had made quite a mess with her ice cream, we agreed to move forward with their engagement session.
Both lived in Washington DC when they began dating and then moved to the Bloomingdale neighborhood together. So they really wanted to represent those first days and how they spent time walking along these streets. I mean, how much fun is that? I loved listening to them tell me about things they knew about the area and all the little restaurants.
Holly expressed how much she loved the architecture of the townhouses and really wanted me to capture that. We met at a great little coffee shop and then started walking down the street in search of beautiful light and backdrops, when I was bombarded by so many incredible spots. We were really fortunate to have beautiful light and picturesque surroundings. Holly and Jeremy smiled and joked and were so easy to work with. I gave a few directions here and there and they were rockstars. Despite them telling me they were nervous about the session, I don’t think anyone could tell it.
