You may remember Rachel and Matt’s Sunrise Engagement Session in DC. It was a magical, yet freezing morning among the Monuments. The color in the sunrise was incredible! Well, let me tell you that so was their Wedding Day! The Wedding was at The Birkby House in Leesburg, Virginia. The weather hinted at rain and they decided to just chance it with the outdoor ceremony and guess what. It only SPRINKLED towards the end. All our outdoor pictures and Cocktail Hour had happened before it started to really come down. By that point everyone was under the tent having dinner so the rain didn’t matter as much. It did help to cool off the day, but the tent was also cooled with big fans and cool air was not a problem. Flowers were provided by Wedding Muse and the cake by Honey Bee Pastries.
Getting Ready is always an interesting time of nerves mixed with excitement all around. Everyone deals with these feelings differently. These two were incredibly cool, calm, and collected. The Groom and Groomsmen were a little later getting to the venue, but Rachel didn’t bat an eye. And when Matt arrived he looked sharp.
Matt gave Rachel a pair of diamond earrings and a sweet note and Rachel gave Matt a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label that was shared with his Groomsmen. Toasts were given and handshakes and hugs were readily shared.
Final touches to hair and makeup were being done in the Bridal Suite by Jamie D’Agostino Makeup Artistry. Rachel just glowed with each passing moment. This dress, the light, and being surrounded by her friends just brought out her glow even more.
