My family visited Dripping Springs 3 separate times prior to 2020 and each time we left thinking that we would love to make a home here. We loved the rolling hills and all the trees that dotted the landscape as well as the amazing schools. My oldest would be starting 9th grade and we knew we really wanted to be settled before his Freshman year.We would also have a 7th and 3rd grader when we finally made the move in 2021.

I also knew about the area’s nickname of being “The Wedding Capital of Texas”, which I was determined to be a part of. I had begun taking weddings in 2015 and knew that the area had so many different Wedding Venues to choose from. Dripping Springs Wedding Photographer Packages Here.

There were also so many great neighborhoods that were full of families with kids of all ages, and that was ideal for my Family Portrait Photography side as well as the Senior Portrait Photography side of my business. And then I was surprised to learn about how strong the Entrepreneurial Spirit was in the Dripping Springs Community and began offering Headshot Photography for those Small Business Owners. I love being able to have something to offer nearly every member of our Community.

When we were able to win a bid on a home in the Dripping Springs school district, after at least 15 tries, it felt like we won the lottery. After 3 visits to Dripping Springs in 5 years our family’s dream was coming true. The pandemic proved that my husband’s job could be done remotely, so this move was for my career to be able to bloom in the Wedding Capital of Texas. I couldn’t wait to live in this great community and spot all these great locations that I could take future clients to for their sessions. Local insight!

The Beauty of Dripping Springs

The Central Texas Sunsets are exquisite with all the colors that they produce in the skies. Sunrises and Sunsets are one of my favorite things to both observe and photograph. Dripping Springs has that small town charm that my husband and I both grew up with and that no longer exists in our own hometowns. Our family looks forward to skipping school and seeing the entire town at Founder’s Day each spring and Christmas on Mercer in the Winter. The rolling hills, wildflowers, and seasonal changes all contribute to the evolving backdrop for my photography.

What Sets Me Apart as a Dripping Springs Photographer

My personal approach to clients is really one of curiosity. I enjoy getting to know families, seniors, couples, prospective parents and what they are looking for at the end of a session. I begin with the end result in mind. Are you wanting to put this portrait on your wall in your living room? in your office? Are you sending this out as an announcement or are you using these headshots on your business card? How do you feel about having your portrait taken? Are you excited about it and have a lot of ideas or are you anxious and really aren’t looking forward to doing this? Either way, I’m here to help you meet your goals and have an enjoyable experience at the same time.

I enjoy the consultation process and learning about the vision you have for the session, then brainstorming it into several possible scenarios. Always keeping my client at the focus and letting them decide on which direction we should go.

I’m local! So I’m living in this community day in and day out. I see new things begin and old things torn down, but I’m always on the lookout for the next PERFECT photo Spot!

I currently offer a variety of photography packages such as: my one hour sessions for Family Portraits, Maternity Portraits, Senior Portraits, Tween to Teen Portraits, Engagement Portraits, Headshots, and 8 hours for Weddings. I have photographed my own family through almost all of these stages and feel comfortable with the insight I have approaching each one. Occasionally I offer themed Mini-Sessions, my latest were 10 minute Headshot Sessions.

I enjoy working with families during the Holiday Season and here’s a review that one of those family members left for me.

“I cannot recommend Lydia enough!!! She was a breeze to work with: so professional and eager to answer all of my questions, find out any specific wants I had, and most importantly she delivered the most BEAUTIFUL photos of my family.

She works with your best angles, knows how to get the kids to look at the camera and keep them smiling, and directed our huge group (11 people) with ease.

Her calm personality and gentle direction brought so much comfortability during our session and helped us have the BEST naturally-beautiful pictures. Our photos were delivered in a very timely manner and there were so many to choose from.

I only wish I would have known her years ago to use as my wedding photographer. Don’t hesitate to book her, you won’t regret it!!” – Leslie

Challenges and Rewards of Being a Dripping Springs Photographer

The weather here in Dripping Springs, TX can be a challenge depending on the season. The summers are pretty hot and that can last for months at a time, so I encourage most photography to be done indoors or postponed until the temps come down and get more comfortable. Thunderstorms can also be a bit hit of miss. So as a Photographer based in Dripping Springs, TX, I have to pay attention to the weather and know a little bit about meteorology to do my job. My clients safety is paramount and I’d much rather delay or reschedule a photo-shoot than endanger anyone.

I love being a member of the Dripping Springs, Tx Community. From seeing neighbors at the grocery store to cheering along side them at the Homecoming games, it’s full of great people who genuinely care about one another. I consider it a privilege to document those lives and contribute to their family memories and entrepreneurial drive. Each Wedding Venue has something special to contribute to our Wedding Capital of Texas and our Destination Wedding Scene. I can’t wait to blackout my bingo card signifying that I’ve photographed a wedding at every one.
